A poem in response to the art of Nancy Friedland

What happens when a poet hangs out on Instagram? I go to IG for 2 things: art and comedy.

That's how I found the comedian Laura Ramoso who is hilarious.


And that's how I found the paintings of Nancy Friedland that touched me so mysteriously I visited her at her studio. Her work inspired a poem which I'm honoured to have appear in the gorgeous catalogue for her show, "I Wish I Had a River" held last summer. The poem, "Here We Were" is below.
